Lens!!

My adaptor arrived for my new lens, which meant today after we went thrifting my brother Will had the onerous task of trying it out for the first time. He snapped these for me featuring my weird new hat, I'm not so sure about it but for $2 I couldn't say no!

I can't believe how big it is compared to my little baby M4/3 pancake lens! But I sure do love it. However, now that one of my travel fears has abated another has (re-)appeared- the dreaded ash cloud. If I can't get out of the country due to some bloody miniscule particles in the atmosphere, I'm gonna be mighty pissed.

P.S. Isn't this coat amazing? I'm not sure if I've written about it on here before. My boyfriend found it for me in the kids' section of a thrift store when we were in Sydney last year, and although the sleeves are far too short and I can't button it up, it's my favourite coat ever. Not bad for $12.

various niceties

As you may have already heard, me and my band, 5th Day of May got the amazing opportunity to open for Imogen Heap along with a wonderful collective of Lyttelton musicians aptly named Harbour Union.
It was a fantastic, wonderful night and I was lucky enough to chat and sing and sneak a photo with the lovely Imogen:

Playing a song I wrote:

Apart from singing in front of sold out crowds, I've spent the holidays in the sun and rain with Adam, my family and my cats.

Ring!

As I was walking through my local shopping mall, feeling sad about generic and expensive cheaply-made clothing, I saw this in Diva.
Yes, the silver will probably come off, but it only cost me $7 and look how wonderful it is!
Also slightly tacky, but awesome.

Sorry for a short post, I will update soon when I wear something worth posting!

La mer en printemps!

Just to balance out the clothing to photograph ratio, I got some prints back today from a roll of film I shot in a modified Brownie 127!
They ended up all crazy long and light leaked and double-exposed and wonderful.

Most of these were taken on a lovely spring day in Sumner for my friend Heather's birthday picnic.
(see above for Heather-y goodness)
